Hello Peeps, I hope this post finds you all well! I want to share a little project
I worked on this week. I have been IN LUV with wooden spool tables lately,
and have been searching Craigslist for one.
This week I found one close by for $25 bucks...yayyyy...
I really love them best when the wood is weathered, so I gave it a stain called WEATHERED GRAY by Varathane
The spool is about 40 inches around, so not as big as our old patio table, but we never really eat outside anywise, so it's actually kind of nice to
have the table take up less space on the patio
I decorated the table for FALL, this beautiful sunny day in the Pacific Northwest
I also made a little fire in the pit for fun
It didn't take long for Robbie and his friend Angelo
to notice what I was up to in the backyard,
so they came prepared with sticks to burn and
took over my fire pit
Meanwhile Bugsy was watching us,
looking all cute!!!
How do you like the little patio table? The best part is that I will be leaving
it outside all year, no more moving the table into the garage for the winter!!!
Hi Christine,

I like those "spool" tables! That was a good idea to look on Craigs List for one. Your back yard area looks so nice. Looks like you have a lot of privacy back there. It doesn't surprise me that your son and his friend would want to take over the fire pit. Boys will be boys!
ReplyDeleteHi Christine! You know I love all you do, and this wooden spool table is no exception, I just love it! My girls felt in love with Bugsie and its house :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love if you could share the table at the party with us http://sweethings.net/oh-my-heartsie-girls-wordless-wednesday-2/. Hope to see you there

It looks wonderful and I got a kick out of it because I did one when I was younger, raising my boys. I stained it and then took a parchment paper of the declaration of independence or some historical thing....burned the edges slightly, and then decoupaged that onto the top. Then the whole thing was finished in a high gloss polyurethane and it lasted outside for 15 years or so!
ReplyDeleteLove your table and the setting with the decorations...looks so cozy. And clearly the boys are enjoying it all! :)
That's a beautiful corner! I love the "swing" for the plants - or plant hanger? Whatever you call it - so pretty! That was a great find for $25.
ReplyDeleteLove your little corner all decked out for fall. Those spools are great. I remember having one for the kids play house. You don't see them much these days, but yours turned out great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Turn It Up Tuesday,
Bev

I have just got back from a weekend in Budapest where I went to this gorgeous restaurant where the decor was all upcycle and repurposed industrial stuff. The tables where giant spool tables, the wood was just polished up they looked fantastic like your project. I now to will be on a look out for one myself.
ReplyDeleteCute! I love spools so much!
