Hi Cuties, I want to share with you what I was up to last weekend. I finally painted
the accent walls in our family room. For those of you that have been following
my blog for a while, you know I have been sick of the "ginger red" accent walls
we had in the family room. I hate painting, so I lived with it for much longer than I should have.
BUT, I finally got my butt in gear and painted over the red walls
with this gorgeous rich color from Sherwin Williams called
Here is a reminder of what the color was
BEFORE, very cozy and warm,
but it was time for a change.
It's been nice ginger red, but time for us to part...
I now think that I should paint the beige wall as well, something
with just a "touch less yellow" in the paint, and more of a
"lighter crisp". What do you think??? I think the contrast would
be much better next to the gauntlet gray!!!
I put some branches in the corner and
wrapped cute string-lights around them.
Can't wait to hear what you guys think....More of this room later...
I have lots more plans for this space!!!! Already ordered a cool
Moroccan floor pouf from World Market.
Can't wait!!
MUAHHHHHH
It looks great Christine! Much more up to date :o)

Boy that really made a change! Looks great. The lights on the sticks are my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you should change the colour of the other wall...white or a very light grey? You have a beautiful family room and I love the tree limbs with the lights too! Diane
ReplyDeleteChristine te new paint color makes such a difference. I hope you also paint the other walls a crisper color it will make such an impact. And I can't wait to see your new pouf. I really like the branch and light idea, pinning. I am co hosting a new link party called Sweet Inspiration and would love it if you linked up with us. It runs Friday till Tuesday so we are cutting it short here, but if you put us on your list you can link up this Friday.

I love the gray, it looks great with your fireplace! I agree that a cooler tone neutral for the other walls would look better next to the gray.

Loving the new color! I would repeat it for the rest of the walls. It would make that room look bigger and showcase that gorgeous sofa.
ReplyDeleteI love it all! I think I would raise the artwork to be higher above the sofa.
ReplyDeleteLove the new paint color!! The branches with the lights look really good too. You have a very beautiful family room. Thanks for sharing at Sweet Inspiration!

ReplyDeleteGood morning! Wow, your living room looks great with it's new colours! What about painting the other wall in white? If I had time, I would repaint a great part of our home, too. My tast has changed over the past couple of years.
ReplyDeleteThank for your nice words on my last blog update. Yes, I adore those nostalgic treasures. And if you where my neighbour, we could to to yard sales together!
Warm wishes
